I might have been better off buying this time….
Well not my best moment… How do you fail making Pineapple Pinecones? Yeah I don’t know either but I did! Still they are the CUTEST FAIL EVER though. So win win, I guess. These were supposed to go along with all the other decor I am making for my daughters Flamingo and Pineapple theme 2nd birthday. Oh don’t get me wrong I am still going to use them. I just don’t get how I failed at them lol!
I mean seriously Karen? Seriously!
You think I would of breezed right through these. Clearly that was not the case. My first attempt was painting the entire pinecone inside and out. Well that just looked plain stupid. So I tried again, this time painting only the ends all the way around. Much better.
Even though I failed they are still cute, still useable and I am still going to show you how to create them. You can add your own crafty flair in them!
Gather up the following:
– Yellow Paint/ Paint Brush
– Bright Green Cardstock
– Pencil and Scissors
– Hot Glue Gun/Sticks
On to my epic fail:
– Start off by painting the ends of the pinecone with yellow paint all the way around like below:
– While the paint dries trace out 3 leaves for each pinecone. Cut out. Curl the tips with your finger like below:
Before we get to the step where I failed epically- Here’s a Flamingo and Pineapple Tic Tac Toe Printable. Complete with game board and cut out pieces.
Simply print and you’ve got your game board!
Are these not the cutest! Print and cut out the game pieces! Use them with your board!
Now on to the final step:
– Now this is where I failed epically. I couldn’t figure out how to glue the leaves on to make them look like the top of the pineapple. So y’all are on your own! But I would love to see what you guys come up with so drop your pic’s in the comments at the bottom of the page!
I mean I guess they aren’t as bad as I thought but for sure not what I was going for! They were a first attempt too so….
